IMMIGRATION RULES FOR CANADA

Canadian immigration means the rules and regulations to be followed by a person to enter into Canada. Immigration is the policy or laws made by the parliament that allows the entrance of people from another country to make residence here. Large number of people migrate to Canada from Asia.

A very systematic immigration criterion is developed by the Canadian immigration department to recruit immigrants. For immigration purposes, people have to fill the application form recommended by the Canadian government. Canadian Immigration policy is categorized into the following parts.

2. Permanent Residence to Canada

Temporary entry into Canada

Eligibility criteria:

· Visitor visa

If an applicant wants to visit Canada temporarily then he should apply for a Visitor visa. Temporary visit can be a visit to see your relatives or to attend a business meeting or it can be an enjoyable trip and likewise other purposes.

· Student visa

If the applicant wants to come to Canada to study, he should apply for a student visa.

· Employment endorsement

If you want to work for a Canadian company, be an employee in Canada, you will require a work permit visa.

· Get married while living in Canada

If a person wants to get married in Canada while on a temporary visit, he would need an immigration visa of Canada as a spouse.


Permanent Residence to Canada

When a person wants to make his permanent residence to Canada, he would have to meet the

following criteria

· Independent class

The independent class is the professional class or the skilled worker class. If a person wants to make a permanent residence in Canada, he would need to fill the application form under this independent class. It has its eligibility criteria. An individual should have work experience, qualification and English/ French linguistic skills. Canadian Human Resource Development has offered a list of occupations known as National Occupation Classification (NOC). The applicant must ensure that his occupation comes under the list of NOC offered by Canada.

1. 25 points for Qualification

2. 21 points for Work experience

3. 1p points for Age

4. 10 points for Arrange Employment

5. 16+8 points for English/French Language skills

6. 10 points for Spouse education

If the applicant gets the score 67/100 points, he would be eligible to apply for permanent immigration to Canada.

· Family class

If a person’s close relatives are the residents of Canada, he can apply under this class.

· Sponsorship by a Canadian resident

Canadian residents can sponsor their relatives to come to Canada under family class relatives or private sponsorship of immigrants. To sponsor a relative for Family Class immigration to Canada, the Canadian resident must sign an agreement for the family member who wants to come to Canada for at least three years.

· Entrepreneur class/investor class

If an individual wants to start a business in Canada, he can apply for immigration under this class.

· Canadian Citizenship

If a person has spent three years being a resident of Canada, he can apply for Canadian citizenship.
